MUA Food Tech. - DisOrientation

Massey University Albany Food Technology Society (MUAFTS) (2021/R1)

The AMESS X MUAFTS collaboration for the disorientation was aimed at the incoming first year students studying Food Technology and Engineering. We successfully had 40 people attend the event at the Albany Village campus, in which the staff and students of all year groups were there to mingle, give advice, and form friendships. The tradition of disorientation was to ease the new students with familiar faces and guidance on how their university days will be like, forming a strong-bonded cohort. To help facilitate the informalities, we had pizzas, table-top games, and tournament video games. We believe the event was a success despite the insecurity of COVID lockdowns and will continue to do this yearly tradition with AMESS.
