“You are what you eat,” says 2015 Garden Club president Richard Donovan.
The second year engineering student says that this year he aims to focus on “the nutrition side of community gardens…it’s not just learning how to grow plants but also what’s in the plant.”
“With New Zealand, we’re quite deficient in quite a few nutrients in our soil, so like selenium, cobalt, things like that, and I just kind of want to have a huge emphasis on nutrition and get the word out there that these are big problems.”
