MAPSA - AGM 2021
MAPSA - Massey Albany Pasifika Students' Association (2021/R1)
On Wednesday 10 February, MAPSA held our 2021 Annual General Meeting in the QA Boardroom (QA2.09). We were fortunate enough to secure funding via ASA grants for the food and serve ware for our grazing table, as well as decorations for the room.
In attendance, we had some of the ASA Executive Team and the lovely Eirenei, our Māori/Pasifika Librarian, who facilitated the voting for our 2021 Executive Committee. We are very pleased to announce that 3 out of the main 4 roles have been filled. Aniva-Storm Feau will be leading the committee as President with Erani Teaupaku as Secretary and Arizona Haddon as Treasurer. All were part of the 2021 Executive Committee and have been working hard throughout the summer to set MAPSA up for a year of success. We'd like to thank all of our guests who made today an enjoyable and memorable AGM.
One of MAPSA's values is sustainability as we are conscious of the waste that events can amount. The funds from these grants went towards purchasing serve ware, drinkware, cutlery, utensils, cleaning equipment and decorations which we will reuse at future events. Though our AGM was not as big as we had initially forecasted, we were able to reduce our shopping lists to cater our smaller guest list. This ensured food waste was kept to a minimum and we are happy to report that no food was discarded at the end of the meeting.
We are forever thankful to the ASA for their help with the grant process. We appreciate being supported to host events that enhance the vibrancy of campus life. We look forward to working together in future.
