MUA Snow Club (2021/R6)

On the 10th of December MUASC had our last Ice-skating evening of 2020! We left Massey campus in the ASA Student van at about 6:20pm and arrived at the Ice-rink around 6:50pm. Once we had all met up, introduced ourselves and gotten our passes and skates it was onto the ice.

We had people of all levels of skating, from learners to experienced skaters. The atmosphere was good as always with the disco lights and music giving us a funky time. The rink was nice and quiet due to the cap on numbers, which made it easier to skate without people crashing into you or vice-versa. Our mid-way food break, while the zamboni cleaned the ice was the perfect time to socialise and everyone enjoyed the good food and conversation. We all enjoyed it and people definitely seemed keen to do another one.

As we applied for a grant from the ASA and it was approved, the costs of travel and entry was greatly reduced. We were also lucky enough to be able to use the ASAs van, meaning it was far easier to get everyone to the rink. We are very grateful for the committee approving the grant, and for the ASAs help in getting us there. Our next evening is on the 14th of May and we are all looking forward to it! The Snowclub is doing well and we hope to see much more engagement at all our events in 2022, especially our snowtrips!
