MU Ultimate Frisbee Club: 2022 National Tertiary Ultimate Championship

Massey University Ultimate Frisbee Club (MUUFC) (2022/R4)

After 2 years of cancellation due to covid-19, the 2022 NZ tertiary ultimate frisbee tournament was held in Hamilton (Saturday 27^th – Sunday 28^th). The tournament was hosted by the University of Waikato, NZ Ultimate and the UTSNZ. Massey University sent one team (Massey Chargers) which consisted of students from all 3 campuses to compete together against the other universities in New Zealand (7 universities and 11 teams total).

We are extremely proud of our results of our team from this high spirited and intense weekend:

• 2^nd in Spirit
• 9^th Overall
• And both Massey students taking the prize for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the entire tournament!

There were 16 students and 2 coaches/admins that came to the championships. This was some of the students first tournament, some of the students last NZTUC and everyone had an amazing time playing and bonding. The team appreciates all the time and effort from the Palmerston North club president and the Albany club president for organising a smooth event for the club members to attend!

Thank you to the committee for supporting one of the biggest events of the year for the funds subsiding our registration cost, transport, and food.
