ASA Executive Update - President - Jake Law
Kia ora koutou! Hope you are having a wonderful beginning of semester 2.
Thanks to all students new and returning who attended our O week events! We were really pleased with the turn out to our Clubs' Day and Housewarming Party at the Merchant. Unfortunately, we did not have a great turn out for our Drag Bingo, and I spent most of Thursday afternoon consoling a VERY upset drag queen so please come to our events in the future!
The ASA execs have decided to do more informal reporting to let students know what we have been up to, so we will be providing weekly updates like this to help you find out what we’re up to.
On Thursday and Friday, I will be in Christchurch chairing the NZUSA national council hui. We are very proud of the response to the student inquiry into wellbeing and the discussions it has prompted around student welfare.
I am really looking forward to our Clubs' Week next week, and I have heard that many of our clubs are planning exciting, and surprising events. I have been trying to get into the badminton club for weeks, so I’m thinking next week I have a date with a shuttlecock. See you there! またね!
