ASA Executive Update - President - Jake Law

Kia ora, kei to pēhea koutou? We are very happy at ASA to be celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori! It is a very special year as it is the 50th Anniversary of the Māori language petition.

The ASA exec have been very busy over the last couple weeks preparing our ASA x Te Waka x MAPSA ball which is now completely sold out! Next week Thursday the 22nd is the Thursdays in Black National Day of Action so come down and celebrate with us from 11am in the student plaza.

You might have seen the official information released about changes to student representation from 2023 and what the new association structure will be. If you haven’t seen that document yet, please follow this link to check it out https://www.asa.ac.nz/more/news/entry/musaf-student-representation-update

We are proud to have been involved in a change that will lead to more support and equity to students who are working hard to represent Māori, Pasifikia, Disability, International and Rainbow students. If you have questions about the changes or would like to be involved as a student representative from 2023 please get in touch! I am looking to meet more students who are passionate about advocating on behalf of our diverse and unique student rōpū.

Kia kaha Te Reo Māori!
