THE ASA PROVIDES A NUMBER OF GENERAL SERVICES TO STUDENTS WITH THE AIM OF ENHANCING THEIR TIME AT MASSEY UNIVERSITY ALBANY BY MAKING IT EASIER, MORE ENJOYABLE, AND KEEPING THEM INFORMED.
The services include:
Let’s Carpool Priority Parking – this system is very popular with students so make sure you read up on it and get your carpool card early! Parking can be a big problem at Massey Albany and for the small price of $20 a year you can secure an easy, conveniently-located parking spot.
Phone topups – you can purchase Vodafone, Telecom, 2degrees and Skinny Mobile phone credit from our reception.
Advertising – through our website, social media channels and poster boards around campus. Just come see Ryan at reception if you have something you want to advertise or contact us by email. Business organisations can view our advertising rate card here.
Facebook page – like our page www.facebook.com/albanystudents to get regular updates about what is happening on-campus and in the local community, find your fellow students, and get access to exclusive offers throughout the year.
Events/event tickets – starting with the Orientation weeks (summer and winter), the ASA runs numerous events throughout the year. These range from the annual ASA ball to free bbq’s, Milo Mondays and pyjama parties! We also sell tickets to awesome external events (generally at a discounted ASA rate).
Student Job Search – we are affiliated to SJS who provide access to part-time jobs and a range of other work-related services. Enrol now at www.sjs.co.nz
Diary/Wall planner/'101 Ways' book - every year we design, print and distribute a student diary and wall planner specific to the Albany campus. These are great organisational tools, will help you navigate the campus, and they contain heaps of useful information. We also produce a book titled “101 Ways to Survive University” which contains 101 essential tips for making it through university – relevant for first year students right through to postgraduates. All of these items are included in our orientation bags, or they can be collected from reception by ASA members for FREE.
Budgeting and tenancy advice – Come and see Penny Lyall our Advocacy Coordinator if you need help regarding budgeting or tenancy. Often, a quick meeting with her to put you on the right path will save a LOT of hassle down the track.
Student Services Satisfaction Survey – each semester we run a survey open to all Massey Albany Students which is an opportunity to give feedback on our services and the university services. We use this information to refocus what we offer and hopefully improve the student experience.
